Philly Alumni: A Citywide Public School Alumni Network Unlike Any Seen Before

Great people like you come from Philly public schools.

We are the Class of Philadelphia.

Why we created Philly Alumni

It all started in 2017…

… when The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia set out to create a unified citywide Philadelphia public school alumni network. We began a quest to find alumni to connect and create a means to network and build relationships with alumni and alumni associations.  As part of our Philly Alumni initiative, we created the nation’s only citywide Homecoming weekend honoring alumni and supporters of Philly public school education in the 2018-2019 school year. Check out a recap with video and photos, here: https://phillyalumni.com/homecoming-2019. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Philly Alumni Homecoming celebrations for 2020 -2022 were postponed, but we will be planning for the Philly Alumni Homecoming Weekend 2023.

The point of an alumni network is we are stronger working together than separately. We are looking to add to the database of alumni that we have.  So many of you have worked to provide resources for your alma maters’ students, and in 2023 we hope to amplify your work and celebrate your wins together. Philly Alumni wants to share your alumni stories, events, help create mentoring and internship opportunities and build a strong support network.

Share this website on social media, with your fellow alumni, family and friends and tell them to join us. Let’s expand our village.

Philly Alumni is the official network hub for alumni groups. We can help you form + organize your alumni groups and connect to resources.

Let’s reminisce...

Remember when the weight of the world could fit in a backpack? And work ended at three o'clock? Those days may be behind us, but the life lessons and relationships from back then shaped who we are today.

Join Philly Alumni, Philadelphia’s citywide public school alumni network, to stay connected, support students, and most importantly, show off that public school pride.

Philly schools made you _______.

Philly schools make champions! Some of Philadelphia’s most notable icons came from it’s public schools. As did many of our heroes— the essential employees that helped us, healed us, and kept our city going during this pandemic. What strengths did you gain from attending a Philly public school? Did it make you more engaged, informed, involved, resourceful, resilient, or all of the above?!

Some of the most talented and passionate people have graduated from Philadelphia public schools. Why not show off some of our alums and highlight their stories?

Past Events

Lil Dicky’s Dollar Party benefiting Philly public schools

Philly area native, rapper and comedian Lil Dicky contacted The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia wanting to give back to Philadelphia public schools in a fun way to help students during the COVID-19 pandemic. So the Fund SDP partnered with him and Philly Alumni on the day before Halloween, or as we call it in Philly, Mischief Night for some fun!

On October 30th, 2020 at 4pm we hosted a special virtual party, "Lil Dicky’s Dollar Party" with Lil Dicky and his celebrity friends actor Abbi Jacobson, NBA star Matisse Thybulle, legendary rapper Black Thought, and DJ Skip to benefit Philly's public school students! Attendees donated $5 or more to raise money for Philly students with Lil Dicky matching each donation. Special shoutout to Michael Rubin for being one of our first donors of the entire donation campaign in a big way by giving $40,000!

In the famous words of the late great Rep. John Lewis, we aimed to "Get in good trouble, necessary trouble," and raise funds for Philadelphia public schools! Thank you to all who donated for your support! $81,100 was raised to benefit Philly public schools 🎉🎉

Watch the virtual party for a dance break and to listen in on the conversation here:

Thank you to all who donated!
